Import prospects from a LinkedIn search

Turn a standard LinkedIn people search into a lead list.

A standard LinkedIn people search can be imported straight from the results page. Note the ceilings before you start — they are lower than Sales Navigator's, and they bite.

  1. Search from the main LinkedIn search bar.
  2. Click the People tab.

With the extension installed, the LinkedLeads import module appears on the results page.

The two limits that apply

1,000 results. LinkedIn only serves the first 1,000 results of any search — 100 pages of 10. Anything past that is counted but never shown, so the import stops there. Filter your search down until it returns fewer than 1,000 results if you want all of it.

80 profiles a day. LinkedIn itself tolerates roughly 100 a day from standard search. LinkedLeads holds to 80, because LinkedIn's real limit varies per account and sitting on the line is how accounts get flagged.

A list of several hundred profiles therefore imports over several days, 80 at a time. That is expected — it is not stuck.

Start the import

  1. In the LinkedLeads module, give the list a name.
  2. Click Export list to LinkedLeads.

While it runs

The list appears in Leads straight away and fills as the import proceeds. You can start other searches, queue more imports, or close LinkedIn — the queue is handled in the background.

Click the list name at any point to see what has arrived so far.
