Handle duplicate leads
How duplicates are spotted, and what happens to them.
Import several searches and the same person will turn up in more than one of them. Left alone, that is how somebody receives the same opening message twice.
Seeing where they are
In the Leads section, each list indicates whether some of its contacts also appear in other lists — so you know before you start which lists overlap.
Clearing them
- Open a list that has duplicates.
- Apply the Is duplicate filter to show only leads already present elsewhere.
- Select all of them.
- Remove them from this list.
The lead stays in the other list. What you have removed is the second copy, in the list you are about to run a campaign from.
Avoiding them in the first place
If you are deliberately combining searches, build the combined list by moving leads into a shared list rather than working from several overlapping lists at once — one list to check is easier than four.
