Is my LinkedIn account at risk?

How the daily limits are designed to keep your activity ordinary.

Short answer: no more than with any other tool, including ones that do not use a browser extension. But the honest longer answer is that the risk depends far more on how you use it than on what you use.

What LinkedIn actually watches

Frequency and volume. Viewing profiles unusually fast, or sending a lot of messages in a short window, is the clearest signal there is.

Its own thresholds. LinkedIn applies internal limits that vary by account — somewhere between 50 and 200 connection requests a week, a daily cap on messages, a daily cap on profile views. Sitting at the ceiling every day is itself a pattern. The figures worth working to are in import and automation limits.

Location mismatches. Tools that act from a cloud server present an address that does not match where you actually are.

Multi-login behaviour. Switching between LinkedIn accounts in one browser session breaches LinkedIn's terms and is easy to spot.

Extension detection, which older articles worry about, is much less of a factor. LinkedIn shipped a script years ago to spot popular extensions; it is well documented, straightforward to work around, and does not appear to be actively maintained.

How closely you are watched depends on the account

  • New accounts get more scrutiny than established ones
  • Free accounts are more restricted than Premium
  • An account with previous warnings is watched much more closely

What LinkedLeads does about it

Paced actions. Random delays between imports and bulk actions, so the traffic reads as browsing. This is why imports take time.

Daily caps. 2,500 leads a day from Sales Navigator, 80 from standard LinkedIn search, with a warning as you approach safe invitation volumes.

A local route. Actions run through a route near your own address, using your browser's own user-agent, so what LinkedIn sees is consistent with the device and place you actually work from.
