Create a pipeline

Set up a board and its first columns.

From the Pipelines page, click + New in the top-left corner. The menu offers a blank pipeline, either of two predefined templates, or a team template if your team has published one.

A populated pipeline with columns for Recipients, Connection requested, Connection accepted and Connection ignored.
What you are working towards: a board with a column per stage.

Blank

Choose Blank pipeline, name it, click Create. You get an empty board with no columns, ready to build out.

A newly created blank pipeline showing a single Untitled column and a New column button.
A blank board starts with one untitled column and the button, highlighted, to add more.
A dialog headed New Blank Pipeline with a name field and a Create button.
The highlights mark the name field and the Create button.

Sales pipeline

A predefined board with eight columns:

  1. New lead — freshly added
  2. First contact — outreach started
  3. Waiting for response
  4. Engaged — they have shown interest
  5. Meeting scheduled
  6. Negotiation
  7. Won
  8. Lost
A sales pipeline with columns New Lead, First Contact and Waiting for Response, each empty and offering Add member.
The sales template as created — the stages are there, the leads are not.

Recruiting pipeline

Also eight columns:

  1. Candidates — added to the process
  2. Screening
  3. First interview
  4. Second interview
  5. Offer sent
  6. Negotiation
  7. Hired
  8. Rejected

Both templates are starting points — rename, reorder and add columns freely once created.

Team templates

Team managers can turn a pipeline into a template the whole team can start from:

  1. Build a pipeline with the columns you want.
  2. Click the ⁝ menu at the top of the pipeline.
  3. Choose Create a team pipeline template.
A pipeline menu open showing Edit name, Copy, Delete and Create team template.
Create team template, highlighted at the foot of the board menu.
A dialog headed Create a Pipeline template, explaining it will be available to all team members, with a name field.
Naming the template. Everyone on the team will start from this structure.

It then appears for everyone under + New → Pipeline from a team template. This is the cheapest way to make sure a team's boards stay comparable.

Duplicating

To reuse a structure without making a template of it, click the ⁝ menu beside the pipeline name and choose Duplicate. You get the same columns, no members, and (Copy) on the end of the name.

The same board menu with Copy highlighted, above Delete and Create team template.
Copy duplicates the structure without the people on it.
